<p style="text-align: center;">In terms of number of enterprises and number of employees Sweden was the largest. Oil and Gas sector held the largest foreign-owned enterprises. Since US has some of the top oil-related companies the world naturally the US is the top investor in this sector in Norway.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">Norway&#8217;s foreign assets continued to increase in 2008 despite the worldwide turmoil in financial markets. Assets grew by  35% to NOK 1,654 billion in 2008. In 2008, net foreignassets totalled 65% of GDP where as in 2007 it amounted to only 54% of GDP.</p>
